I’d like to chat with my ladies and gents for a quick sec about confidence. What is up with the self-trash-talk? I just read a study that says people who viewed themselves as fat were more likely to end up overweight. This goes beyond the scale. Low self image can hinder friendships, job prospects and overall well being.
Start today, like right now. Stand up straight when walking into a room, smile at strangers, feel powerful when you walk. The more you talk yourself into feeling confident, the more you will exude just that. Fake it till you make it. When you go for a run, envision that beautiful sprinter with perfect form on the track. When you walk into a room full of new people, put your head up and envision everyone in that room wanting to know YOU. How do you know they don’t? You. Don’t. So, stop thinking negative. Stop feeling inadequate. Every person around you is fighting their own battle. What harm would it do to reach out and get to know someone new? Teach them something they don’t know. Learn from them. Gain insight. Feel connected. Learn. Grow.
Your challenge today is this.
Open your eyes to how beautiful life is. How beautiful of an addition YOU are to this world. Show everyone and yourself just how loving and caring and valuable you are. Feel it and believe it. Once it resonates in your soul, it’s truth. Once it’s truth, it can do nothing but propel you forward in this wonderful adventure called life. xo
This day. This sunshine. We are being blessed right now by the weather Gods. We could be in 4 feet of dirty snow and fog my friends. But instead, we have this. Don’t ever underestimate the power of Vitamin D from the sun, fresh air in your lungs and a little sweat to pump the endorphins. Make time to get outside for 20 minutes every day the weather allows. It’s will revive a tired soul, it will motivate a procrastinating mind and it will put a little happy in your step.
Now. Do. It.
The most important meal of the day. It doesn’t have to be immediately out of bed, but it should be in the morning. If you fill yourself with a hearty and savory, healthy fat filled breakfast… I promise you will not overeat for the remainder of your day.
2 eggs scrambled, 1/2 avocado, 1/2 cup brown rice and salsa mixed up is heaven. A hearty breakfast that will fill you up and give you energy for your day. Try it. Like tomorrow. You’re welcome. 🙂
I think sometimes we get so caught up in our life that we forget how much we are in control of our emotions. We wake up. We get ready for our day. We leave the house and at that moment, we are in control. Will I live this day with a positive attitude even if I’m saddened by life happenings? Will I leave in a grumpy mood and never snap out of it? Will I sabotage or demean my health? Let’s choose to create the life we’ve always wanted. From the second we wake until we lay our head back to rest. Live your dream. Look ahead and plan. Set goals. Give yourself timelines and milestones to focus on. It’s your mindset and it will help you if you focus on it with good intent. Your life is what you make of it. So make it a good one.
All too often we think we can just jump into a complete change of lifestyle without addressing the issues that caused a need for change in the first place. I encourage you all, on this road to health… to look deeper. This new program will address not only the food and exercise of a transformation program, but the emotional side also. Why do we self sabotage? Why do we crave sweets? Why do we not live mindfully? All of those answers will come with this program. Don’t you want to figure out what makes you tick? I know I am looking forward to hearing what the wise and inspiring Tarrah Hodges has to say about it. I look forward to a new journey myself, and it begins on Saturday. Join us, won’t you?
The best veggie sauté you will ever eat… I promise. Just did a little tweak to it and it’s delish! I made today into a mini prep day since it feels like Sunday. So top pic.. Boiling eggs in one pan and Purple and White fingerling potatoes with carrots in the other pan. Cut up red pepper, asparagus and zucchini while boiling. Once the potatoes and carrots are just SLIGHTLY soft drain the water, add some Extra Virgin Olive Oil, garlic, ginger and the remaining veggies. Sauté with the lid on for about 5 minutes. Just before veggies are done add a handful of fresh kale and sliced peperoncinis and some of the juice. This my friends is the key!!! It is just savory enough to make it a meal in an of itself! Make a big batch and eat it all week. That paired with shredded chicken in the crockpot and hard boiled eggs… And your week is set!
