Here I sit with my salad the size of my head and a glass of wine. Yes wine. When enjoyed in moderation, wine can be your friend. For one please note the key word ‘A’ glass of wine… We’re not talking the bottle or even 2 glasses here. A study published in September in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry compared the antioxidant effects of resveratrol (from red) and tyrosol and hydroxytyrosol (from white) on rats. The results suggest that white wine is just as powerful as red in improving heart function and preventing artery blockage. If your day was hectic and busy, sometimes it’s more the act of SITTING DOWN in a relaxing environment even if you use a closet or basement as the only quiet place in your house and enjoying that glass of wine that carries most of the health benefits. Down time. Relaxation. Breathing. All actions you must find time for in your day to lower cortisol levels and replenish your inner self.
